We are launching a new study!
Over the course of the last few months, we have gradually come to realise that we have been staring at something fascinating - Streeties have been managing extraordinarily complicated interactions, collaborations and negotiations with the people around, something most of us struggle to achieve after years of training. This has been piquing our interest and so BHARCS is launching a new study as part of the #LivesOfStreeties project.
This is the second study that is part of the #LivesOfStreeties project. The first study involved studying activity budgets of free ranging urban dogs. In this second study we are looking at communication, not just between these animals, but between dogs and humans.
The study is expected to last a year and is going to rely on crowdsourcing of data. So if you live in a part of the world that has streeties and want to contribute to understanding these amazing animals, then please do reach out to us. You do not need a scientific background or experience working with animals. All you need is streeties and a phone camera. You will get detailed instructions and we have small give aways too. Click here to know more, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, do not forget to check out our Stories section to follow the stories of these lovely dogs. We encourage everyone to connect with these lovely animals and understand their lives better. The more we understand, the less we fear them and the more we can learn to benefit from each other and coexist as we have done for millennia. Dogs are our friends and can make themselves very useful to us, if we just connect.
